I need to stop drinking on sunday night....

p(x) and q(x) are polynomials, both of degree 5, what can you say about the degree of p(x) - q(x)?

It's 5, right?

p(x) is a polynomial of degree 5 and q(x) is a polynomial of degree 3, what can you say about the degree of p(x)q(x)?

Is it 8?

Well... I guess you can say the degree of p(x)-q(x) is at most 5. And that the degree of p(x)q(x) IS 8.
