I went to update my sound card drivers today and it went back to and older version! Now I'm having troubles with my sound card making an awfull noise after playing mp3s for a while. This is in windows 2k.

wow... you're the first person to say something bad about this card.

I dont personally have one, but ive heard that most everyone who has one is quite happy with it.

I still like my sblive one though...

I am still considering a Philips or a TB Santa Cruz for my next system. What bites me is that you just can't download drivers for the Philips line. Not to mention support for alternate OSes like Linux, BeOS, etc.

You can get drivers, its just that its a stupid automated process. Well this time it decided to give me older drivers that have problems!

I've read about several problems with the SE and Win2K ... something about the .vxd files in the current release. Have faith, they are working on it.
Check out the forums at 3dsoundsurge on the subject.

Nah, I was whining about their lack of SMP support for about a month before I gave up and sold the card. ;)
