A few weeks ago, I was desparate for a running back, with Quentin Griffin being benched, Jamal Lewis facing suspension, and Dominick Davis playing horridly. My QB's are Hasselback and Brees...I offered Brees(with random other players depending on the trade) to just about everyone in the league, including Brees/Davis for A. Green, to a guy with CARSON PALMER starting QB. No one would bite. They figured "ah, drew brees, he's just gettin lucky, he won't keep it up" Since I gave up my trade efforts, he has thrown for 4 TD's, 5TD's, and 4TD's.

Those guys can blow me. :p

I wouldn't crow about that.
He could have just as easily been starting on someone else's team now and they would be telling their buddies how they fleeced you.

Carson Palmer?? Ewww.

I have Brees on one of my teams. He starts over Brady.

Except I'd still be starting Hasselback, and I'd have another upper-tier RB to start alongside Jamal Lewis now that he's back.

Who did you end up with at running back now?

A good running back is harder to find than a good QB. I wouldn't have accepted your trade for Brees either if I had to give up Ahman Green

I definitely wouldn't either but he did say that owner had Carson Palmer. That sort of changes things!

ha...I had to scour wavers. 12 team league + 16 roster spots = not much available...the one week, that Lewis was out and Davis was on bye, I had to start Jesse Chatman and Sams(returner/RB) from Baltimore. However, both of them got me TD's :p

yeah i would not bite on that trade either. carson is ok, but i would have looked at the FA pool before even considering drew brees (at that point in time).

Like I said, there is pretty much nothing but backups in the FA pool. The top right now are Kerry Collins and Jay Fiedler. You do the math.

how is this for stupid, the guy who is 8-1 in my league drafted manning & mcnabb in the 1st 2 rounds, tiki barber in rd 3 (lucky bastard), eagles D in rd 4, seahawks d in rd 7. i swear to god the computer picked his team, and now he keeps winning because he gets lucky with his FA pickups (mwelde moore, michael pittman this week... ugh) worst draft ever, and now he is wiping the floor with everyone.
