This proves nothing. In a city of 10 million people one can easily find a few stupid 911 calls and pick them out of the tens of thousands of legitimate calls.

actually, this is a small sample your right, but it happens all the time across the united states....and these are only the ones you hear about....I am sure that if all 911's put out compilations of what they have to deal with everyday...you might have less of an optimistic attitude of humanity.

I stand by what I said...people are stupid and lazy....this is just another example why.

The guy with the ice on his windshield was like a typical person who comes here and ask for advice.

1. Ask for help
2. Get good advice
3. Advice isn't what he was looking for, so he gets indignant and pissy.

I think this is good for 911 operators. Poor guys get all these horror emergency calls all day long so this is kind of call is entertainment for them.

And yet hundreds of millions of people are productive, competent citizens who aren't making stupid 911 calls.

Rather than saying "people are stupid and lazy" I'd just say you're an simplistic elitist who think he's better than the majority of people and uses obviously cherry picked examples to support his self aggrandizing fantasies.

Opinions are like a$$holes...everybody has one.

simplistic elitist? no...I call it like I see it.

Our culture of fast food, "gotta have it now no matter what the cost", and microwave mentality will always prevail because people, by their nature; one they continuously choose not to fight, will take the path of least resistance. Therefore will continue to prove once and again that they would rather be stupid and lazy then to actually take the time and put some thought into what the hell they are doing. As long as they get what they want in the end, who the hell cares how they got it?

Am I categorizing everyone in the US?...nope.

Just a vast majority.

Cherry pick examples? I don't need to, as long as we have the internet, and sites such as youtube, google video, break.com and liveleak, examples will continue to be provided for all of use to see everyday.

I applaud your optimism of our culture......a bit too optimistic for my liking, but hey your entitled to your opinion too.
