Stupid people and online game ethics

I was playing a nice friendly round of army ops earlier today and sadly a teamate came charging around a blind corner at me and on instinct I TK'd him. Later on a few rounds later, I was coming up around stairs into a majorly hostile situation, and put a couple bullets into a teamate, injuring but not killing him. At this I apologise to him, to which I get a nasty curt reply. So I tell him to f' off, at which he promptly comes back in a sweep and TK's me on purpose.

Now sure, I did almost kill him, but I apologised to which I basically get the finger thrown back at me. Seriously, was that really necessary? I wish more adults played games, instead of these 1337 h4x0rz kiddies that get all bent out of shape when you apologise for something you did wrong.

Speaking of army ops, anyone else here play?
 
I used to play, but not so much anymore. Atleast it seems you're more controlled than me. I've accidently fragged almost half my squad by an errant throw of the grenade.

Try saying sorry after doing something like that. 😱

ha. i did that to my friend last year playing paintball. we were going together and crossing a dirt road, i was behind him, we were both to shoot and cover.. he stood up into my line of fire and incidentally caught a few paintballs right in the mask.. he kept yelling "GUAPO337, YOU SHOT ME IN THE FACE!" and he wouldnt shut up.

Hahaha, I like that. There's just some maps where when someone comes busting around the corner at full speed you don't have time to think "friend or foe", because those spots are usually foe. Sometimes when I play AA😱 I feel like I'm walking around texas... drop everybody first then sort it out later.

Um, you fvcked up his game. I remember when I played Q2 CTF with team damage on - I'd be on D with amp and some fvcker with quad on my side would hit me with a rocket, taking away my power armor and making the base vulnerable to the enemy. Sure it sounds stupid and I've never played Army Ops before but you seriously mess up other people's games when you hit your own damn teammate. I always hated the dumb bastards who'd kill me, purposely or not. You just need to learn not to fvck other people up

No no, this was 2 seperate guys, 2 seperate rounds. The first guy that I DROPPED was cool about it, especially since I singley (last man standing) won the round for us. The second time around, different guy, and I didn't drop the guy, and I apologised for it immediately, the guy just went postal. That was the FIRST time I've ever had anybody do that.

And like I said, I'm trigger happy in tense situations where I expect the enemy and not strays from my squad to be. I'd rather be alive playing then dead watching.
 
You should always move with the team on AA, that way you arent as likely to TK someone. Always make sure its an enemy before you open fire. If you get shot in the time you are determining Friend or Foe, then you left yourself too exposed. You should always proceed with caution, trying to cut down on your own visibility.

LOL I do that crap sometimes when I'm getting bored playing or pissed off at a TK'er or sumfin. At key times like at the beginning of a map where everyone is together i'll blast them all with a nade, snipe them one by one in the back as they try to breach the beach wall in RTCW or jump in a jeep and blaze ahead then lay explosives in a high traffic area and kill my whole team when they cross um in BF1942.

I'm a grown man but I still find humor in pissing people off from time to time. 😀
 
I hate how most people are in games like that, i Know exactly what you mean, I used to play online games 5-6 hours a day, every day, for a few years. (mostly QuakeIII) people can be hardcore dinks.

Now try playing with your roommate and friends down the hall. The look on their faces is great when you kill the entire team and then when they barge in and knock down my door only to find me at the tv with the computer unattended.

I can't honestly remember what his reply was at this point, but I think it had something to do with my deceased mother or such, which is what elicited my response. Basically all I was trying to tell him is "it's over for god's sake, go back to doing what you were doing and I'll go over here and look for bad guys", and for some reason he went tangential.

I understand that I injured him, I understand I threw off his "rhythm", but there's no reason to turn around and TK someone especially after they've apologised, unless you happen to be 12 years old...

 
His insult which involves a 'relatively close' third party is out of line and would tend to elict your response. I agree with you that his intentional Tking you is completely uncalled for. Sorry that it happened to you.
