Well, I have this old Pentium 2 POS, which is driving me nuts...
The problem which i am facing now is a weird one. One fine day the computer booted up fine, but I got no connection using my LAN. The LAN card was detected in the Device Manager, so i went nuts trying to find out why these was no connection. After a few restarts, i discover that the LAN card dissappeared from the Device Manager, without me deleting it, or changing any settings...
I opened up the machine and checked the card, it was fit snugly. I Refit it and rebooted. Still no card in the device manager.
Thinking it was my card which was problematic, i checked it in another computer, but it worked perfectly fine..
Cutting a 4 hour story short, the place where the card goes in has become loose!! It needs to me fit at a certain angle for it to work, otherwise it just doesnt!!
So far, its working, but is there any way around this except junking the Motherboard?? 1 of 3 slots has already gone bad, and this one is now going beserk!! Help!
