I was given 112 shares of XOM stock when they were 35 a share.... I almost sold when Xom hit $64 a share, but then I thought of the tax implications and said, meh I will hold onto it

Now its at $54 a share again, byebye $1120 dollars :)

you are still way ahead. You don't gain or lose money with stocks until you sell. You cannot think about it the way you are.

It's all floating anyways. Hold on to it until it moves back up again (which it will), or let it go.

My mom/dad have about 100,000 shares of XOM (combined 55 years w/Mobil with employee stock purchase program + options). If they thought the way you did, they'd have ulcers all the time. :p

Lol, I only thought about it that way because I was considering selling them, and I didnt, plus will be purchasing a house soon :)
