I want a good looking notebook which runs Windows XP. I want the design of Apple with a Windows machine, why isn't that possible? The Latitude D600 feels like a$$(quality-wise), compared to a 15" Titanium Powerbook. The T40 is soso-lala. ARGH.

Sony Vaio Z series are sweet. I like em more so than the Apple Powerbooks.
Have you checked out the Sharp models that they have Overseas ?

less than like 1/2 inch thick and magnesium allow casing. I think those have the Transmuta Carusoe CPU tho.

I haven't been impressed with Apple's design. My HS had a bunch of iBooks (the new ones) and some TiBooks and every last one of them had the screen scratched up from the keyboard. The scree rests right on the keys when the cover is closed. Terrible design. Also, the much-touted "widescreen" TiBook wasn't any wider than my ThinkPad's screen. It just wasn't as tall. The Apple keyboards were too small also. Maybe I'm spoiled by IBM's famously good ThikPad keyboard, but the Apple keyboards were off somehow.

Yep, sony support sucks. And people rag on the hardware, but I still love my aging r505 superslim. Usually the people who rag on Sony notebooks either balk at the price (not a problem for me as I never buy brand new laptops) or the middleware for the scrollwheels and function buttons which is near impossible to find if you don't have a recovery disk (I have found this software with a little searching). Never had a laptop that was easier to take apart and work on than this one.

Anyways, do you really want a 15" notebook? I just bought a 15" Powerbook for a client and I think it's too huge. I can't even imagine what people do with the 17" ones!

I do love the 12" Powerbooks though.

There are a bunch of 15" widescreen Windows systems now like that compaq x-whatever and the one sold through bestbuy... none look as good as a powerbook though.

I want a 1400x1050 resolution on a 14" or 15" monitor. The 12" Powerbook is totally sweet but it's a Mac....
