stupid MS antispyware

I installed a new mobo, reinstalled Windows and when the desktop came up, a MS AntiSpyware popup came up saying:

"An LPS (I think it said LPS) program is trying to control your connection - do you want to "Allow" or "Scan". I chose scan but nothing happend and now my internet connection is down and can't get an IP from my router. I know it's all hooked up correctly and I can ping my NIC card, so this is something else.

I scanned for Spyware but got nothing... it seems that somethign else is holding back my connection and I think it's MS (big surprise).

Is there an easy way to see what MS AntiSpyware is allowing and blocking? I went through all the panels in the Options but found nothing of interest.

TIA

I'll give it a shot but I'd rather just disable whatever the antispyware did to it. Does anyone know where you can enable whatever you disabled in MS antispyware?

well I tried the LSPfix and removed rsvpsp.dll and nothing happened. I thought it would be put in the "Add" column but once I removed it it's gone forever. I reinstalled Windows and it's still gone and my connection still doesn't work.

wow, i am a very stupid man. I have a Belkin Router and for some reason it filters macs that are connected physically instead of just wirelessly. So I had to add the new mobo's NIC mac to the "ok" list to be able to get onto the LAN.

In any event I'd toss the MS AntiSpyware. It's junk (at least it was too me). On a test box it didn't catch 6-7 spyware progs/cookies that Search and Destroy did.

That sounds like a recipe for getting locked out altogether :p

MS AS doesn't catch tracking cookies, but works very well, and doesn't (seem) to hog resources

it's one of the good free "real-time" programs, but Istill use Adaware and Spybot andd so should everyone.
