I did a search, and while there a numerous Ebay-related threads here I found none that specifically ask you to list stupid auctions so here is my stupid auction for the day:

I have been tasked by my wife to find/buy a camcorder. I decided on a specific model and found the lowest retail price I could find from a reputable vendor. Well, on a whim I decided to check Ebay. The camcorder is going for anywhere from $325 - $400 new. This is last years model and the original MSRP was $599. When I ran across this auction I was a little surprised:

Camcorder auction

The seller is asking almost twice the value of the unit and more than $130 over MSRP as an opening bid! I don't think they will be selling it too soon ... what a waste.

Fixed your link.

Arc of the Covenant was still a classic. I love the part about the seller's finding it while cleaning out his garage :D

"mummified mouse I found under my refrigerator" is the best one I've ever seen. I'm googling for it, but I can't find it. It's about 2 years old.

How do you know the bidder on the Muskin RAM didn't pay?

High Tech Cell Phone Hand's Free Set (AKA Poor Man's Cell Phone Hand's Free Set)

This was one of the funny emails that friends and co-workers were sending each other awhile back. Someone actually tried to sell one on ebay?

I'd like to see the Arc of the Covenant auction. I missed it.

$2025 for memory??
WTF? Someone please explain to me.

Wow.... Some guys must have had a heck of a bidding war.

... I have no idea why the hell anyone would pay that much.

with experience you'd realize that there was no biddding war.

Not only are most of them new members, but look at the bidding $360(reasonable to $$2000 by *gasp* NEW ebay members

The last guy who bid is just a fool though

Just for kicks I'd like to auction off a $1 bill and see how much people would pay.

I am sure that most of you have heard about the size 12 (used) wedding dress auction:

3 million hits and counting

Well, while most of us prob find this extremely hilarious, there is a sad side too. The bidding on this item has ranged all the way up to almost $100M. Ebay has had to extend the auction by 24 hours (very rare) and to pre-qualify bidders! Additionally, members have been making wacko bids on the dress. Unfortunately, as of the writing of this message a number (at least 10) established members (some with 400+ feedback) have been kicked off ebay for bidding on the item.

... very sad for those who thought they would just jump in and joke around. They end up losing their hard-earned reps.

Anyone have a link to that Yamaha Raptor auction that linked images from Yamaha's website? The webmaster got "amusing" and changed a bunch of the pictures.
