My wife's aunt just called desperate for help because she <gasp> forgot her password for her Windows XP account. Not only that, she does not know the Administrator password. Does anyone know a way around this short of reinstalling the OS? The online WinXP help hasn't told me anything except for how idiotic she is for not creating a system restore disk and not remembering her password.

go to downloads, then Admin Tools, and download the NT Admin Boot Disk... its a linux bootdisk that will reset the password to whatever you want... pretty easy actually, but may take some time to explain to your aunt over the phone.
