Stupid HT theatre question?

What's the best way to splice speaker wire. I may need to do it because the rear wires are not long enough. Is there an easy way like plugs? Will it cause and sound degradation?

Don't splice at all if it's avoidable. You're just creating more chance for "noise" in the wire.

But if you must, solder or use couplers.

Pics of your setup? 😛

You could just buy a roll of good wire and run that. No splicing, soldering, or coupling required.

I had my floors re-done and had them run the wire under the floor. I measured it too close I guess not giving enough breathing room if I want to move them a foot farther away. As it is not it's good, I would just like the luxury of having a little more wiggle room.

I wouldn't worry about splicing. The kind of equipment you'd have to have to actually tell a difference....

then again, there's the "peace of mind" factor.....
