Stupid highschool - banned iPods!

GermyBoy

Banned
My sister told me today that they have banned all students cannot use SPECIFICALLY iPods, and other "similar" mp3 players. Smaller ones like the 128MB usb cards are fine because they "aren't used to hold illegal materials." BTW, this is the highschool that I too went to, and it was never so stupid before. They actually fought of a bunch of the prior rules similar to this one.

I personally find this pathetic..

Nope, not banned yet.

Well at my old schools you could not bring pogs, playing cards, baseball cards, etc. So many things were contraband that it wasn't even funny lol. Also, in HS we weren't allowed to bring any type of cd player like device.

That is retarded...might as well ban VHS tapes and recorders/players, any and all computers...man...pretty much anything...

No gas tanks over 20 gallons on the cars...anything over that is stolen gas...

That's retarded if they're only banning HD based MP3 players. They don't hold any less-legal material than compact flash based players.

Do they ban CD-R/CDRW & USB HDD?
What about upload/download files to FTP site?

That kind of sounds like my high school. They banned sandals for the longest time, then they unbanned them all except the ones with the tong in the middle of your big and small toe. This confused the hell out of me. 😕

i love going to a red neck school. i can tell them whatever i want to about what it is i have and they get confused and say go ahead, i dont care

this isnt so odd the reason may be. BUT in my HS we couldent have Diskmen, walkmen, or any other kind of music player in school. NO cell phones, and if you had a PDA and they found you listning to music off it they woudl take it away and call your house. no game boys either

basically anythig that plaied music was banned because you were "supposed to be working" while there. even if you were in study hall with nothing to do

its not that odd of a thing to do. the whole pirated materials idea is dumb but its not uncommon

It makes sense to ban them ALL, but not just SOME...

Yet another brilliant high school decision. Mine was famous for a rather draconian dress code, at least for girls, and locking all the doors that people had to get through to get between classes.

Now, if they had banned all music players, then it'd make sense. But just hard drive based mp3 players is SO STUPID.

Mine too, probably most.
Do they ban photocopiers & scaners at your school too?

thats not th epoint. if kids are downloading songs at school and putting them on ipods and the like. they are beaking the internet use policy for 1 and 2 doing something illegal. the school is just !) enforcing its policy. of educational internet use and 2) covering its ass legally
