I hate games with missions where the goal is "survive for 30 minutes till you get rescued". It's always easy for 26 minutes and only the last 4 minutes are hard. Why don't they just make the game "survive for 5 minutes" and not make you do the first 25 crappy minutes over when you keep losing. :|

Ewww, im with notfred on this one. The survive for so long missions are quite lame.

I hope they have that kinda missions in Black Hawk Down.

Sounds like someone is playing the last level on wc3 on hard setting. I think the point is to give you time to prepare for those last 5 minutes any way you like.
 
Hints to beating that level:

Forget about building units... get tons of the summoner guys (forget their names) and build spirit towers in rows in front of each of the entrances to the altar. ALso build a few around your base. The guys that are summoned in, keep them where they are... only use them to take out catapults. Keep your guys repairing the towers and you should make it.

u need help with that level? I can help you. I beat it with Hard mode and it gets insane.. (also lvl 22 on bnet)

1. First secure the gold mine on bottom right.
2. Empty your stash and pick up all the goblin landmines, they pay off BIG.
3. If you're good enough, u can rush top center and kill the mage on the little island for Ring of Protection +5 before things start to get crazy (first 5 mins)
4. Spam two rows of 10 spirit towers right in front of your Necropolis, another 20 on center entrance and about 10 at right which would also protect your expansion. (now, have about 2 acolytes in each location with auto-repair)

**now the winning tips**
*The game is all about upkeep, stay @ no upkeep for first 10 mins as you tech and upgrade like hell
*make nothing but crypt fiends (spiders), their ranged attack makes preemptive strike and excellent for choke entrances and hero killing
*when attacked, kill in these orders: their mage hero (assinate their mage hero quickly with spider focus fire & lvl 3 coil), priets (their inner fire blows) & the rest
*time to time, they'll send Felhounds & Infernals, DO NOT LOSE THEM. They are the KEY to winning the game for they DO NOT take up supply and affect upkeep! by the end of the game, you should have all 4 infernals & 15~ Felhounds + your 70-80 army to push over. If the summons get damaged, wisely pull back to fountain of health.
*Mines Mines Mines, place them infront of the spirit towers by 2-3s to get rid of the invincible steam tanks.
*Animate Dead, ALWAYS use them after a big battle for 6 additional knights to cover the other entrances where you can't be.

you're not going to like the last mission AT ALL then. altho, maybe you will, it's the last five minutes of these types of levels multiplied by like 9. It's exactly what you wished for! hehe.

yea that level is a biznatch.. spam starfall and tranqulity like hell and it's still hard.. key to winning that one is all about ranged attackers: Archers...

Lvl 3 True shot aura + fully upgraded archers + Roar (25% attack boost) = 50-60 dmg arrows! That's how u win.. constantly spam 30-40 archers with DotC roaring. Melee units are worth crap in that level, for they'll die by the time they get in range.

So use the save option, warcraft is easy if you use tech tree right
