Stupid fitness question about sweat

This is kind of a wierd question but just maybe someone out there may know what I'm experiencing. I started working out a few weeks ago doing fast walking, jogging and playing basketball. I did this for about 2 or 3 weeks but for some reason I did'nt sweat a lot. Fast foward to the past week or so and I've been sweating buckets doing the same activity, sometimes I even sweat just doing a fast walk.

Is there a reason that I'm sweating now and not before?

Does lots of sweat mean that I'm getting a better workout?

Would adding muscle mass to my body force me to sweat more?

It can be a lot of things. Has your diet and/or water intake changed a lot recently? Has the weather/humidity changed a lot?

Sweat is just a way for your body to cooldown - it gets rid of excess heat by sweating. (A general statement) Have you been wearing different clothing lately, or has the weather changed like what Staley8 said? Like he said also, might be your diet.

My diet has been the same and drink tons of water all year long. The weather has been the same also. This tends to happen to me every year, usually I sit on my ass all winter and in the spring or summer I start doing more physical activity but I never sweat much when I first start exercising, its usually a few weeks later that I really start sweating.

Are you doing it at a different time of day? Your body temperature raises throughout the day and your muscles are also a lot warmer/have more blood flowing through them

if its more humid you'll think you're sweating more

I've always thought it was your body adapating to it's new work load. Your body is becoming conditioned for increased physical activity, so when you step up that activity, your body responds by "overcooling". That's my theory anyway.

I usually do my working out in the evening after work and the humidity has been pretty much the same now as it was 2-3 weeks ago. The only thing I can think of thats different is that I've been lifting weights.

It is probably that before when you started out your body was *slow* to change and to cool itself. Now its ready for when you exercise and it cools you down now. I'm sure that if your body didn't sweat at all now you would be in real trouble after a few months or so. I'm sure that your internal organs would not like it. Your body would be too hot :(.

Yeah. I swaet instantly like a mofo everytime I do anything now.

Kinda ironic, since everyone else that's doing something with me thinks I'm really, really out of shape . . ..

It might be that after doing it for a couple of weeks, you're able to exercise with
more intensity causing you to sweat more.
