This morning I was using one of those Dry Cleaning Secret dryer sheets to knock the wrinkles out of one of my new dress shirts. Well, I take the shirt out of the dryer and there seems to be freakin rust stains all around the corners and seams of the shirt. Around the collar, down the seams in the front, on the cuff, and everywhere else.

What in the hell is this crap?? I wash white clothes all the time and dry them and I don't get these stains. I did notice that one of my white dress shirts had the same thing but it wasn't that bad. I have never noticed this happening before since most of my dress shirts are dark colors.

What is the best way to get these stains out|? I just got this shirt Saturday and now it seems to be ruined!!

You can get it out. There's this clear liquid that my dad used to squirt on our white clothes that got the rust off. It would come off instantly.

I think it was called rustaway or some crap like that. It was some old stuff b/c the bottle looked all worn and abused.

This Book might help says "Cream of Tartar" is helpful against rust stains. I imagine you make it into a paste and let it work on the spots for a bit. Haven't tried it myself, so, best of luck.

The book also has some good maint. tips for cleaning your washing machine (which might be where the rust is coming from).
