stupid excel question

This one thing is driving me nuts.

I can't figure out how to make a column not moveable. What I mean is this: Column A will always stay in one place, so if I scroll right it never moves but the others do. Thereby allowing me to use column A as a reference.

Any info would help, this is driving me up the wall!

bump, I figured it out, it's the freeze panes option.

Funny how that works, you ask a question and then you figure it out.
