stupid dual boot question

I have dual booted before with win98 and win2k on their own partitions using Partition Magic 7.0. However, when i install winXP, and 98 on different partitions, for some reason i cannot figure out how to get them to dual boot, and it is annoying me that i can't figure it out...any help out there?

have you already installed both?

normally, as long as you install winxp SECOND (i.e. install win98 first) then winxp will make a boot loader automatically for you

The other problem, that i guess i forgot to mention....When i install 98 first, and then upgrade to XP, even though it sets up the dual boot, they share some of the programs, and drivers, and i have some things that i need for 98, but aren't compatible with XP, but i can't have them for only 1 of the OS. Also, if anyone can help me on this...how can i get XP to recognize my Geforce3 ti-500? updating the drivers doesn't helped, and im out of ideas

I am sorry to break the bad news, dude, but yeah, you'll have to reformat to make it work. The rule of thumb is: always install FAT/FAT32 format system before NTFS. XP will modify boot.ini file for you to dual boot. Don't be upset, it's just a part of the learning process 🙂 Good luck!

Sorry, almost forgot: not only do you need to download the latest drivers from VC manufacturer, but also run XP update, GeForce 3 being relatively new card may not be fully supported by XP yet, at least run autoupdate from XP and see if it helps.
