Hindsight is 20/20, right? When I saw someone with a brand new account (less than 3 months, zero feedback) bidding, I should've deleted the bid...but fair is fair and everyone needs to start somewhere and be given a fair shake, right?

So I left the bid intact. He/She/It won...and hasn't paid or contacted me yet. Technically, they have until tomorrow to pay (I spec'd that in my Auction Terms) but I've a feeling they won't be paying. I mean, it's only $41.00, and they haven't even contacted me?

It's the whole "new Ebayer, no feedback" thing that's putting the dark cloud on this one.

I wonder if I should flame the crap out of him/her/it or not? Nothing worse than a deadbeat. If he would've contacted me and explained things, that would be diff.

Thanks for listening.

Just put this in his feedback: "He didn't pay. He is a bad buyer, as well as being Michael Jackson's partner in crime."

I will contact them...as soon as the 72 hours to pay is up, which technically, it is not. I sold six things on Sunday; FIVE of the buyers paid by Monday morning...as it should be. This dorkus is gonna dork me over, I know it.

I'll cut and paste the EBay TOS; a bid is a legally binding contract, etc.

$41 isn't going to make or break me; it's the point of the thing, you know?

Totally agree, had the same problem myself, only my item was for $600, seller didn't pay I was stuck with the fees. The worst part is that Ebay doesn't give a rip about you, thats why I have pretty much ceased to do business with them.

Goodluck to you and I hope you get your money
Sorry about the threadjack :)

@ S Freud:

Not a threadjack AT ALL>>>your story is completely relevant to the thread. :) Thanks and sorry you got stuck with that massive EBay fee.

I've already paid EBay my fees for those sales...about half, total, what you got stuck with. :(

Do feedback something along the the lines of: "Buyer refused to pay. Mentioned going off and joining Al'Qaeda."

Leave neg feedback, then utilize the second chance offer on the next lowest bidder. Might work out!

I was going to recommend leaving negative feeback, then registering 10 new accounts and using them ALL to leave negative feedback, but what's the point on a new account?

Just file a non-paying bidder thing with eBay. You get yoru fees back and everything and can just list it again. But if you do, then I don't think you can leave feedback. It's one or the other.

I didn't know that; I've never encountered an Ebay deadbeat (as of 11:00AM PST tomorrow, anyway) before.

I will probably opt for money back as this Bipedal Phallus probably has changed accounts 100x already and I"m just the latest victim.

Thanks for letting me know!

I stated the circumstances in my OP. :) Of course, I hope he comes thru; my gut tells me I'm screwed, though.

It's not like it was a $4,100 auction where maybe they'd have trouble coming up w/money. It's $41.00, for cryin' out loud.

n00b blues uh?
Try contacting them and explaining eBay life, chances are they don't have the protocol skilz that you're expecting.
Yeah, I know, it's handholding , but like you said, you didn't do anything proactive about the bid either.

Good point. I'm not a n00b seller; I just haven't dealt w/any slackers before...wait; maybe that makes me a n00b?

What I would LIKE to do is send Guido and Frankie to his house to explain to him that debts need to be paid on time.

I'll second that. Between ebay and paypal fees margins are way too tight for a legit merchant.
