Stupid corporate slogan ideas

Go to the home depot site and you see an image that says...

Home Depot... Proud Sponsor of Father's Day

What the hell? How do you sponsor father's day? Just annoys the crap out of me that they make themselves into a "sponsor" over something like this. Share your own, or go ahead and just click the link to see the stupidity for yourself.

That's why I shop at Menards 😛...

They just have 80's music for a jingle and incredibly ugly colors for their stores/signs... 😛

This just annoys the hell out of me. What are they sponsoring? There's nothing there about giving free to family or low-income dads, there's no link to any npo or anything like that. It's such bull that they can claim they sponsor something that is so common.

I think it's implied that they're not ACTUALLY sponsoring Fathers Day. It's a joke, a gimmick. I'm assuming you get this, but you cause me to have doubt in that.

BTW, I'm a father, and this doesn't offend me. Are you a Dad OP?

Ah, so you think it's a joke. I think it's more like the kind of ploy they use during Christmas to make the holiday completely materialistic, and you don't have to be Christian to take offense to that. You don't have to be president to take offense to the president's day marketing either. I am not a father, but I am sure some other people understand how annoyed I feel when it's mid October and they are putting up Christmas stuff and saying "buy crap or your children will be sad" or mother's day stuff and saying "buff crap or you mommy will be sad" or the same for any of these days. Maybe it's just that I'm getting older and society is changing so much towards a money-grubbing, materialistic view that corporate america seems to be defining for us. And people are listening, and it is sad.

/end rant

Society is changing? You mean what society has been for almost half a century now.
