Stupid Circuit City

So I was looking into a case to carry my notebook and found one on their site and checked that the local store had it in stock, they did (put it into my cart for local pickup), but before I bought it i figured it would be good to go over and just get it there so I could look at it first.

well I go over with a printout of the online price ($35.99) and see it listed there $39.99 and in bold print GAURANTEED LOWEST PRICE so I wander over to a clerk and ask him, he says there is nothing he can do so i talk to a manager and she looks it up online and says, yeah thats online only.

I ask her, so I have to drive home order it and drive back and get it at that price...she says yes. I ask her if thats the only way, and she tells me there is actually a computer over on one side that I can use, so I check it out...but they have it setup so you cant even close the browser, so the next fool who came by could just hit the back button and get my info

so then I walk back and make sure and she says there is no way she can give me that price even though it says gauranteed lowest price.

and this was at 8:30 and the damn store closes at 9 so I cant even make it back to get it

freaking stupid

There are ways around that circuit city software. After all it's just windows. There should be a way to clear everything.

yes, notice that little thing that says "web only special"? there you go.

it is somewhat retarted, the only real reason we do it is because it counts as credit (or loss, for that price) towards the online store, and not us.

of course, most people aren't as paranoid as you, as once the order is processed, you can't just hit the back button and get the credit card #, it is hidden. Also, you can't order more on that same card w/o re-entering it, because that order has already been processed. So it is fine in store.

BTW you probably wasted more in gas than you did trying to save $5.

*edit* oh, and that GUARANTEED LOWEST PRICE you were complaining about? read the fine print. It is for stores within a 50-mile radius of that store, and our online store, but not "web only specials". Consider being able to pick it up in store for that price a priveledge.

It's worth it to spend more to buy it somewhere else, but it's not worth it to spend more to buy it where you already were? ;)

i wont spend more, you can buy it from the website of the company for the same price they are selling it at their store and the shipping is maybe $1 more then the tax would be.

I really doubt someone would/could get your info. If you were less of a paranoid anal-retentive nut you'd probably be happier.
