Stupid checkcard and Circuit CIty question.

1)haven't gotten paid yet
2)have like $30 in the bank
3) going to return $100 prodcut to CC

I am correct in assuming that the funds will not be returned to my account immediately? Or will it be instanteneously. I don't want a denied transaction today.

If this will occur, do you think CC will allow for an exchange?

money should appear back in 2-3 days

If your going to buy something at CC just ask them for a refund in a gift card and they should glady issue one.

It totaly depends. BB returns take almosy 20 days to come back to me, while HD takes a day.

I believe it is handled as a credit card credit. Chances are it'll take (at least) some number of days for the credited funds to re-appear in your checking account.

If it's handled as an in-store swap, then (usually) there'd be no adjustment to the (credit/check) card (i.e., they don't credit the account then re-charge the new merchandise). Generally, they would prefer this, because every transaction to the (credit/check) card bureau costs them money.

It's been a while since I was retail, so I could be wrong ...

Good Luck

The less complicated procedure is to return the item to your card and buy the new item. That is at least how it works with the primitive billing system at CompUSA. If you're buying something > 30 $ then it won' t work, since the credit takes a day or two to go through and you don't have enough money to buy it.

If the 2nd item you buy it worth more money (or they are worth the same amt of money) though, it's a simple matter of applying a credit for the old item to the purchase of the new one. This is again how it works with CompUSA's horribly antiquated system. Part of the reason behind it is that credit should go back in the same form in which it was created -- credit card to credit card account, check and cash to cash/check.
