Stupid CC and GC policy

I bought two DS games with a GC i had for CC, but it turned out that my brother got me those exact games for Christmas.

Last night i went to return those games and, as expected, I got a GC back. Not a problem. I saw that C&C3 was on sale at BB, so I price matched and bought that in its place.

Total Returned - $31.70
Cost of Game - $31.48

Left on GC - $0.22

WTF AM I GOING TO DO WITH A 22 CENT GC? I know some places have a policy that if the amount left on the GC is less than a dollar they just give you the change. NO, not CC. SO annoying.

Give it to him to help cover the 23 cent shortage.

I remember when you used to get cash back man those were the days. I cannot imagine the fortune companies make on gift cards not used or not used all the way.

When there is only a couple of bucks left on the gift card, just hand it to the person behind you in the checkout line for them to use.

It is $0.23. I would just throw it away. To be honest, all of my purchases at CC have been over $10, so why use that at all? I'll always have more than enough money on me and plus, that splits the tender making it difficult for unskilled/impaired employees to return the item if need be that is.

Connecticut recently passed a law requiring stores to refund GC balances of less the $5 in cash if requested ... doesn't help you much I'm afraid.

PA and pretty much every other state needs to do that...

OMG $.22.....that gonna break the bank for you?

What...next time you need something there, you can't apply the $.22 towards it?

CT ruelz with consumer protection.
Our Gift Cards cannot expire either, nor can they depreciate. Nor can a business advertise a product as "FREE (after rebate)" unless they give you the rebate at time of purchase.

parody thread or not, i find it believable that CC or its employees would refuse (or even call the cops) over a customer attempting to use two different sources of tender.
