let's say I have 4cyl 2L engin.
what does that mean?
volume of 4 chambers = 2 L?

what is revolution?
when you say 4000 rev per min, what's spining ? cylinders? driveshaft?

four cylinders for a total displacement of two liters.

the revolutions refer to the revolutions of the crankshaft.

By displacement, what is meant is how much volume of air will fit in a cylinder when the piston is at BDC (Bottom Dead Center) multiplied by 4 (for the fact that it's a four cylinder engine). The larger the displacement, generally the more potential there is to create horsepower.
