Stupid cable company...

I have Adelphia cable internet. Service is great, no problems. Basic cable service is provided by my apartments.

I moved apartments over the weekend, and notified Adelphia of the move, advised that no onsite service is required or desired (cable internet is node-shared), and they understood and agreed.

So 5 minutes ago I get a call from my wife. A tech showed up, wanted to run cable all over the apartment, and was telling her that the apartments do NOT pay for basic cable. WTF?

I get the tech on the phone, said thanks but no thanks, and he was all put out that he came out and I didn't let him run some cable somewhere. At this point I'm feeling for the guy since he was sent out for nothing, but then he starts getting crappy with my wife saying he's not leaving until he runs some cable. I get him back on the phone and told him if he didn't leave the premises I would be coming home and REMOVING him from the premises. No longer feeling for the guy. Now I'm pissed. He did finally leave.

WTF is up with people?

Definately do this, but do it both local and corporate. When I worked for one and they got complaints they would start comp'n out the a$$. Worse that can happen is nothing. Demand that the person in charge at that branch give you a callback so you can explain in person. When he/she does call, demand something, but be practical. Don't ask for a year free service, but ask for something in return for this guys rude behavior.

try local customer service first, i had a few problems over a couple weeks and local service helped right away (with cox)
