Stupid Blu-Ray "rip lock"

Seems my Blu-Ray drive comes with "Rip-Lock", so I can't read a Blu Ray Disc any faster than 2X. Just very annoying.

Sadly their is none available for m model. Most newer Blu Ray drives no not have any firmware to remove the "feature".

That was Sony invention wasn't it? I stopped buying Sony products a long time ago. They are overpriced mediocre products with extra DRM.

You purchased the wrong drive. My LG reads up to 3-4x.

The original Playstation 3 was Sony's best product in ages, despite its tendency to cook itself to death. Region free, modder friendly, SACD playback for the audio geeks. That was six years ago. Everything released since has been rubbish.

They sold the PS3 as a Linux capable computer with OtherOS, and later killed it with a firmware update. Sony will always screw you in the end.

yeah. though when released it was a great machine (i still have a 40gig fat that plays ps2 games). while i think they should be introuble for teh linux BS it is still a good machine.
