I have applied for it a few times in the past, and I got a letter today saying that I was declined again :(

I just want a freakin credit card where I earn points! :(

I have never made a late payment, and my income is fine and my current debt is very low (~$300 total spread across 3 different charge cards)!

The only thing I can think that is wrong with my credit is the college loans. (~$20k)

It doesn't even say why I was declined! :(

I think its more Sony's fault.

They have ungodly requirements for their financing. We use household for Sony cards at my store, and they wont approve people for $2k that just got approved for $6500 on Citifi.

You're not missing much. After 3 years I have enough points to buy a Discman or something. BankOne sucks too, I've had way better luck so far with Citibank back when they ran the Sony card. I'll be changing as soon as I get some time to research alternatives.

why the hell did they change from citi to bankone!?!? i got so mad after that. The very reason i chose citi was because of their nice temporary cc# service u can put on ur computer.

so far, servicewise, i find citi to be better, but they transfered recently so I don't have much experience w/ bankone to make a good comparison.

I have enough points to buy a couple dvd's and stuff..heh...

Same here. How did you get rejected by Bank One Sony card when they only got it like three months ago?

About the service, they gave me a late charge and overlimit charge somehow on my first statement without me ever using the card. Online CS didn't reply to my email in a week, but when I called in, they fixed it all right away.

I have a BankOne Amazon.com Visa. It's pretty nice. 3 points for every dollar spent at Amazon and 1 point for every dollar elsewhere. 2500 points gets me a $25 Amazon gift card.

Fair Credit Report Act

i believe they need to give you reasons for declining your application.

I applied discover and they never gave me a reply. after 6 months, i called and mention about FCRA, they retrieved the letter and sent it to me. :p

Well, I have a small limit on like 3-4 different charge cards (Sears, JCPenny, Paypal Visa, Lazuras) and I was wanting to get rid of all those and just use one main card for everything. I don't need to transfer the balances (they are small), I just want to get a new card and make it my main one.

I figured the Sony card would be cool, but I doubt I would use it enough to earn lots of points.

Hi,

This is Felix, from Bank One - unfortunately you were declined for the Sony Card because your credit rating is teh suck. And dont bother applying again - ever. You suck. You will always suck. Did I mention that you suck? Oh yeah, and one other thing, you suck.

Thanks,

also, bankone has a policy that if you are declined, you will not be reconsidered if you reapply within 6 months. It's a stupid waiting period. If you really want to get to the root of the problem, checkout www.creditboards.com
