mostly just a bitch thread

I got my b3 replacement from superbizz this week.

I havent used the system in atleast a month. it totally crashed, locked up constantly, I assume I had one of the few actual problem boards

once they shipped my board, I ordered a new SSD, so I just did a fresh win7 pro install, toss in the gigabyte driver cd, let it do its thing


bam, no ethernet

from the bios it sees it and will run a test saying I have 1gbps and a ~10m cord(more like 6ft but whatever) but in windows no link no nothing:hmm:

disable, reenable, uninstall reinstall driver, still nada. reboot a billion times, doing it in various orders, making sure its enabled in bios.

still nothing


now ive had too many beers to mess with it and I shall take my buzz to bf play4free to get owned


any nice thoughts on something stupid I missed due to tiredness and beer?
 
First I never use the CD my parts come with - always go to gigabyte's site for latest giga stuff. For Intel chipset I go directly to Intel, for Realtek I go to Realtek. Is that where you're getting your ethernet drivers (which I assume is realtek)?

yeah I used the cd, mostly because it worked fine last time.

I should have mentioned that the realtek lan device reports an error

newest drivers fixed it

shoulda done it earlier, but I suitably annoyed as hell 😛


got to take ninite for a spin finally. its GREAT
