I purchased a video card at work for cheap, and it was JUST the card, no cables or documentation or anything. i'm planning on using it in my entertainment center PC, but i can't get the TV out to work.

It looks like i need the official ATI drivers and not the windows reference drivers to be able to tell it to switch from monitor to TV display, but I can't find the drivers for it on ATI's site

I used the seril number database thingy to figure out exactly what card it is, and ATI said it is a: All-in-Wonder RAGE PRO 8MB AGP NTSC

The closest thing I found in the drivers list was ALL IN WONDER PRO, but windows won't install the drivers for the card, saying they are incorrect... any ideas?

windows XP btw

well i finally got the drivers to install (the error i was getting was because the drivers weren't WHQL certified) and now when i go to settings to enable the TV as a monitor, it says it is not connected. In device manager you see the monitor i'm using and generic television under monitors, so i assume that means windows see's the TV, but why doesn't the ATI software/drivers see it?

or did i install the incorrect drivers...

You did either have some cables at home or go buy some right? Without the cables plugged in it wont let you do a thing.

hehe, yeah, i'm using the cables that came with the radeon 8500 thats in my main rig right now

i have the svideo to female rca, then a 6 foot male-male RCA going from that cable to my tv

i found this at ATI's website, but i've tried them all to no avail

why are there only 3rd party tv out programs for nvidia cards?!?!

well, i took out my 8500 and tried it in this entertainment center PC and the tv out worked right away... guess the card i got is bad!

i guess i'm gonna go to compusa or best buy (i know i should order online and get it a lot cheaper, but i want it NOW NOW NOW) and snag an 8500LE or something similar

hold on, tried rage 3d/radeon sites for drivers of that card? it sounds (to my uneducated mind at least) that's it's a driver issue...

don't think it's a driver issue, cuz when i took my 8500 and tried it, even the BIOS and all that showed up on the TV, before drivers are even an issue

i ended up snagging a radeon 8500LE and it works fine, but looks like i'll have to reformat cuz for some reason i wasn't allowed to install the old ati drivers, and i can't change display settings...
