Stupid artifacts!

I was getting TONS of artifacts in games lately, to the point where it slowed down the game then locked it up. I decided to have a look see under the hood, and found hair melted to the underside of the video card, right under the processor. Could the hair be the offender? I removed it (took a little bit of scraping by my fingernail, but nothing rough), but I'm not entirely sure if the video card is going to be damaged or not by the stupid hair.

Seems like the artifacts are still there...I think my videocard is dying. :(

No overclock. Its a 4600 ti and current temps, as of thi time of this writing is 45C/113F for the processor, and 41C/105F for the Motherboard. Thats on the 1.7 P4 (original core). I do have the 56.64 drivers installed, but it did the same thing on the 56.72 drivers.

"underside" to me has always meant the HSF side :)

No, its cool. :) Anyway, underside = under the videocard...the opposite side to the HSF. Not UNDER the HSF, just the otherside of it, where all the soldering is done.

Yea, I just shot BFG an email. I *THINK* it might be related to the fact that I was running forceware drivers, as I just went from the 56.64 to the 43.45 and it just cleared up Command and Conquer: Generals. Lets hope BFG is kind enough to send me a replacement should it need one though...I don't have the money after upgrading my monitor.
