Stupid 7800gtx oc question

This may be a stupid question but is there a greater chance of artifacts, system hangs and stuff like that on the 490mhz factory overclocked cards like EVGA and XFX? Just wondering if getting the factory overclocked 7800 is worth it over the 450mhz version most manufacturers offer.

I have the EVGA non KO and it will run at 499/1390 with some tearing and artifacts. 490/1350 runs perfectly. YMMV.

You should be fine. Artifacts etc would make it a defective product.

when you overclock it first artifact you get take not of core speeds and roll em back just a touch till you get no artifacts, thats that cards limit.
If an ati card was made as an x800xtpe and failed final testing it would just be bumped back to a xt spec or pro. The perfect ones got an xtpe tag.......
