I'm looking for new ideas on a problem I've been trying to fix for a couple of weeks. My sytem, which I just built, periodically refuses to boot up.
A little background: After putting everything together, loaded win2k, all is fine for a couple days. Then I go to start up the computer, power goes on fine, it starts looking through the boot devices and the hard drive is chattering away. Then it just stops before video comes up. Try as I might the darn thing won't budge. Later on, I'll come back and try again and sure enough it comes up just fine. 😕 I'm not sure what I could change in the BIOS. I'm not o/cing. Could it be a bad mobo? I'm out of ideas.

Whats the power rating on your PSU, and how many hardrives/cdrom/dvd peripherals do you have in it. Sounds like you might be pushing the PSU's limits.
