I seem to have run into a brick wall,.... a very low one at that. Set up is A7N8X deluxe, 2200+, two 512 sticks Samsung in dual channel. Temps stay in the 38c - 44c. No matter what I try I cannot get more than 2.05GHz, I have tried various combinations and hit a max of 166 for the cpu, and tried variations of multipliers from 11 - 13.5.
Seems to be the most stable at 166, 12.0, mem settings of 7, 3, 3, 2.5. vcore 1.65, and ddr 2.6
I seem to be stuck with a 2.0GHz

Any thoughts,... or am I missing something?

seems like ur ram is the bottleneck, and holding you back from a grea overclock. you can try to add more vcore, but not sure how much more it would give you also. if you can get ur hands on higher quality ram you should be able to do a 200FSB and 10 multiplier.

good luck!

imo, it's your chip that's the bottleneck. check it to see whether it is a T-Bred A or B

Tried more vcore, no go. Soon as I go over 166 she flops! The mem is pc2700, so I'd think it would be good for a little better than what its doing,... I am starting to think it is the problem. The 2200+ is a TB rev B.

Your RAM is likely the problem. Maybe you should try to slow down your RAM timings and see if you can go above 166. Try the slowest timings and then step your way up in frequency.

I have some Twinmos PC3200.... with a Tbred A, I think, and I hit 200MHz FSB / 2.1GHz no problem. I'm running Vcore = 1.85 and Vdimm = 2.93V. So, I am adding some extra volts, but the CPU is running at 42-46C, depending on if I have my AC on. If I run Prime95, temps are more like 51C, but still not killer.

I have the Thermalright SK-7 and a $2.50 80x80x25mm fan. Not too shabby.
