stumped many, help appreciated

When my computer was booting, it was attempting to load windows (in safe mode with default bios settings) it would restart itself. Tried Windos Repair but it froze up.

After playing around with things (change video card, change RAM) it stops getting that far (even when I return to the original setup). So I'm getting no monitor response now.

Then suddenly it works! I see (press F1 to continue or DEL to enter the bios setup) Then I realize that I left my keyboard unplugged. I excitedly plug it in and restart only to have it give me no monitor response again.

Play around with things some more and now I'm getting long warning beeps and no monitor response.

I've tried swapping video cards, and RAM

Any ideas?

Power Supply a Fortron FSP300-60ATV

Maybe the motherboard has gone bad somehow. Do you have another computer to test the components in? Your motherboard manual should tell you what the beeps mean.
 
1) is the computer freshly built, or had it worked in the past?

2) do not hot-plug PS/2 keyboards or mice, it's Not Nice to the mobo

3) make sure you use the purple-ish port for the keyboard, not the green one (green is function-specific for mouse), if you're using PS/2 keyboard and/or mouse

4) if the Western Digital drive has its own data cable, and is not already jumpered for Single Drive, then set it to Single Drive by removing the jumper cap from the pins and leaving it off. While the system's powered down, of course 😀

It was working once but when I started having problems I replaced the video card and then the motherboard and then the RAM.
At one point, with the new motherboard, it would turn itself off a half second after it powered on. I realized that some of my standoffs were out of place and when I fixed that it began trying to load windows and restarting. I don't know what caused it to stop even doing that.

Video card is AGP, no other slots to try. I don't have a spare MoBo to test with.

I see you replaced the mobo. If it wasn't the same chipset as the old, you may be having problems due to chipset driver conflicts. That is, when installing a new mobo you need to reformat (or at least do a repair install if in winXP) and install the new chipset drivers for the new mobo. If not, the old drivers wont work with the new mobo and you have probs trying to get into windowz.

Replaced with the same model MoBo but it is 1.5 yrs newer so there are slight changes to the board.
I've tried clearing CMOS but I still can't even get to the bios.

I'm pretty sure its the cpu or the motherboard. Should I be able to get to the bios with a malfunctioning cpu?

Well just a few days ago my power supply was good enough that the computer at least tried to boot windows. Everything seems to be getting power (and I disconnected everything non-vital) do you think a beat power supply error could still be the problem?
 
take EVERYTHING out of the system except for psu/cpu/ram/vga
if no luck,
take out vga
if no luck,
take our ram
if no luck,
chances are it is cpu/ram/psu related ;-)
