Stumped by motherboard readings...

I am curious if anyone knows why my problem is occuring. I am trying to read my cpu temp while in windows. I can view it fine in BIOS, but don't want to reboot to go into BIOS just to see how it's temp after an hour. I've tried using Everest Home Edition, Motherboard Monitor, and Speed Fan and they all do the same thing. They show a temp of say, 21C, then two seconds later it'll jump to a more accurate 45C. Sometimes the temp will not only change widely, but in Everest it will dissapear for a few seconds too. I've used these programs fine with my main PC (an AMD64 X2) so I know how they usually work. They are doing this on a new Biostar M7VIG 400 motherboard (AMD Socket A board using a mobile 2500+ CPU). I would think the mobo was defective if the BIOS didn't give a steady and constant temp readout.

Any ideas what is going on?

There are 2 bios updates relating to temp overload protection, but I don't know if that will fix your fluctuating temperature. My biostar nforce2 board has a special section in the bios for flashing. It was easy to use. But first, I would post without the biostar splash screen, and see if your bios version is listed. No point in flashing unless it's absolutely necessary.
