What a weird coincidence. I was nearing the end of my subscription and was debating whether to renew it. It really seemed to have gone downhill over the last two years so I was leaning towards letting it run out. Glad I didn't plunk down any money to renew it!

I subscribed to The Net (not .net) back in the 90s, and when they ceased publication they fulfilled the remainder of my subscription with Business 2.0. I was pissed. :|

I'm shocked anyone plunked down money for it at any time. Most of us had 10 years worth of free subscriptions left when it went under.

It had to happen, too many players in too small a market competing for a shrinking number of ads.

What I was thinking too. Too many clone magazines. I guess it starts and ends with Maxim.

Hopefully Maxim is next. Those two mags have become so ghetto-fied that it's ridiculous. When Maxim first came out it was a great mag, but now it's all "bling bling" trash.

I kept receiving Stuff long after I'd stopped reading them. The amount of free subscriptions that were given out was astonishing...

My free subscription was still good for another year or so. I guess their advertising revenues dried up.

Don't all of these magazines airbrush out nipples anyway? That makes them just about useless...

I'd be surprised at anyone who doesn't have a free sub of this

about the only free sub worth anything these days is my free consumer reports sub, good until 2010

I stopped reading it long ago. I signed up for a free sub years ago, and it just kept coming. I moved twice and still it comes. Thank God it's finally gonna stop.

I was a subscriber to Stuff back around 2000-01. I chose it because reading it made me laugh, and there weren't any other magazines that were funny. Then Maxim tried to pick up on the humor as well. I haven't read either of those in a few years, so I have no idea what they're like now.

I think Business 2.0 went under recently as well, IIRC.

Stuff is/was just the leftovers that weren't good enough to put into Maxim. Maxim, imo, sucked after a couple years anyway. Why they needed more of the same I don't know. Obviously, even free was too high a price to keep circulation high enough to satisfy advertisers.
