the story is bs, its not danger to drive and talk on the cell phone at the same time, plus banning talking on cell phone violates my freedom of speech right

Driving isn't a right, so freedom of speech doesn't apply here.

No, it would not, because your "freedom of speech" cannot infringe on someone else's right to safety.

Edit: And yes, talking on a cell phone does affect your ability to drive.

I'm just happy that I predicted Ylen13 would be in here saying something about how he rocks at driving and talking on his cell at the same time.

I always have to wonder just what is so important that it must be discussed right now, while driving. What conversation cannot wait until you arrive at your destination?

Did the advent of the cellphone suddenly create more urgent things to talk aobut?

i got no problems with people that do it as long as they still know how to drive their car... some drivers just don't know when to put it down though.

i guess will agree with you, people should stop talking when its raining really hard and you can't see anything pass 1/4 of a mile etc. but all of the people i hope realize that even if u pass the laws banning talking on hand held cell phone people will still do it as cops can't catch everyone

Well, according to this study, because your driving would be worse than if you were driving drunk. There's one reason.

I know a lot of people that insist on not using handsfree... I have a suspicion that the hit & run incident I had (the other person ran after clipping my rear bumper).

I see it way too often. The average American driver is already inattentive enough to cause trouble without using a cell phone.

BTW, "freedom of speech" has nothing to do with your ability to talk on a cell phone. My area is in cell phone ban (w/o handsfree) currently... I just wish they would enforce it heavily. Most people are getting handsfrees now that it's a law but there's still a very large percentage that don't give a rat's @$$ if it's the law or if they're endangering others... they think it's their right to do whatever the fvsk they want.

let see if you are drunk, the only thing that will get u sober is time. When you are talking on cell phone as soon as u hang up u are not drunk. Also i personally find my self concentrating more on the road then if i am not talking on cell phone
