This goes against everything i've learned in high school health class where if you're not using contraception during intercourse then you're in it for the long run.

This article about a journal article was pretty interesting. Family planning "can be as effective" as the pill. I'm using the quotes because I dont remember them publishing ranges. They did say that the pill was .16 unintended pregnancies per 100 women per year while family planning was 1.8 unintended pregnancies per 100 women per year.
However 1.8 is at least 10 times more than .16, right?

So who's feeling lucky?

My wife and I did family planning for years. It worked great. Once we were ready for a child, I knew which nights I was getting lucky! :)

A lot of people are starting to say the pill is bad for health reasons. The shot too....

Note the qualifier they throw in there: "when done correctly." This means taking temperature and "measuring cervcal secretions." How many people just goofed up/did their method incorrectly? Or just got sick of measuring stuff and made some whoopee? If it's difficult to subscribe to their methodology, it's gonna fail.

Just keep it out of the vagina and you'll be fine, there's plenty of other places to put it.

Except you can have sex all the time if your GF is on the pill...you can't if she's using natural family planning.

I vote for the pill. Same results...more sex. You make the call.
