Or maybe... People that have more sex are inclined to listen to hip hop.


I can't stand these type of BS studies. Same thing I saw on tv with someone promoting more money for after school programs in schools. The 'fact' they gave is that kids in after school programs tend to do less drugs... UMM, what if kids that tend to do less drugs are more inclined to do something else instead, ie after school programs.

EDIT: Their conclusion doesn't make any sense. That's like saying the common variable in people with cancer is that they all drank water. And then falsly concluding that the water caused the cancer.

The article isn't coming up for me, but I think you're simply reading it wrong. To say that hip hop music fans have more sex does not imply causation. All it's doing is pointing out a statistics.

Well then, it should be no surprise that a segment of the population that overwhelmingly favors (and produces) hip hop music also accounts for a disproportionate number of single mothers.

I wonder if anyone has done a study on music preferences vs income? Legal income, that is.

Consider that the majority of people aren't as intelligent or knowledgeable as you. You may be able to recognize that it is not implying causation, but many people will still infer causation.

I love the statistical leap from correlation to causation personally. Sort of like my correlation that being a gentle kind man leads to more sex ... well maybe that is not such a good example (looks at empty date book and hears crickets chirping)
