Dude, that occurred to me too !!! Um, after a while it did. Also, who knows, I said FF was a vape, maybe some oil or something. I've never done that. Now, I have smoked hash in the distant past, a little, don't know that I bought any, just someone handing me a pipe with a piece of hash in it. Nice smells! But oil? Have never encountered except in the media, not in person. My sister laid a bottle on me for BD 2-3 years ago, got it here:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CANABIS-INFUSED SPICED RUM

Caribbean Rum fortified with California Cannabis

Contains 0% Labrador

Hecho en Oakland
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's it, nothing else on the label. Looks to be maybe 2oz., I've done like nothing with it. Don't know if it's supposed to get you high or suppress your pain or what.

The bud I do have was given me by a friend from my volunteer gig, fellow DJ. They grew it in their backyard. Might be an ounce or two, it's from ~3-4 years ago now.

I also have what I grew back around 1978, indoors under lights. That stuff scares me, not sure it's OK, also hell of old now, of course.
Am I to understand you still possess homegrown cannabis that's nearly the same vintage I myself am? Yeah, I'd go ahead and throw that out.

Yeah.... idk if I would smoke that.

Not like it will hurt you but that weed will have lost substantial potency/flavor... call smoking it a "waste of lung" lol. Old (within reason) oil OTOH will most likely be fine if it didn't dry up or leak.

Aren't you in CA? If so go to a dispensary and get something decent.

Stick with 1/8th of an oz only so it doesn't get stale/dry out before you consume it. I'm in CT and dispensary-bud goes for anywhere from $25 to $47 for 3.5 grams currently. (price is set mostly by potency)

I suggest you go for an Indica around 27%-31% THC which is mid-range. Lower THC % bud can be terrific too (and often tastes better) plus because folks falsely assume THC is the only ingredient that matters it can also save you substantial money!

The seriously potent stuff (32% +) is good for heavy smokers but it will knock you right out if you're a casual consumer.

The few years old MJ laid on me is in the freezer. Maybe, I hope, it's retained its potency. Honestly, when I smoked just one or two tokes around a month ago I felt it plenty.

Wow... that's a first although I don't see why it wouldn't work provided you actually sealed them up air-tight. Stuff doesn't last forever in a freezer though just a longer period of time.

Even so you just spent $100's on a nice vape... I would get some nice fresh dispensary bud to test it it out.

Yeah, if you've got that on hand, please, for the love of all that's good and right with the universe, throw out the forty fucking year old weed, man. There's frugal, and then there's.... hanging onto forty year old weed.

Look at that age again.... it's "3 or 4" not 34! :p ;)

Still not exactly fresh even stored in a jar in the freezer!

No. Just NO.

There's a good chance there's funk in that 44 year dry-as-powder shit, such as mold (if humidity or moisture ever got at it, it likely got mold too). Get rid of it, no matter the frugality or sentimental value of being something you grew. It'd probably not have much effect outside of the pain in your throat and lungs.

Dig... I grew some psychedelic mushrooms around 1979, only about 1.4 doses did I manage. I dried them and placed in a jar and froze that. About 1994 or so I ate 2/3 of them and got high, hallucinated, although I wasn't way the hell out there, no. Wasn't a giant dose. I had supervision (my GF, who demurred on taking the remaining ones)... I have always respected hallucinogens, in fact that's the only time I have gotten high on them. Had a piece of blotter acid some years before but it didn't get me high. Snorted some coke I bought off a co-worker in 1980, again nothing (figure it had been stepped on way too much).

I still have that 1/2 dose of shrooms in my freezer. Would it get me high today? Something? Would NOT surprise me.

Yes, those jars with the MJ are sealed tight. I know canning jars, have been into canning since the 1970's.

Hows the legal delivery service in NYC. I'd like to get some herb delivered to me in the bronx. I looked at the website, looks very legitimate. A little on the expensive side tho, which isn't that bad since I'm not a big cannabis user. Have yet to call the number tho or place an order. Anyone have experience? Is it like ordering chinese takeway? I really feel like i'm wasting my summer not using cannabis a bit at least like how I somewhat used to

They now allow me to have 4 plants, so I might even start growing again. This time a legal grow

We're allowed a few plants here, maybe 2? I'd do it but am afraid they'd get pinched. I'm in a part of town where that's more likely than where my friend lives who laid some home grown on me ~4 years ago. I don't have a gate to keep people from going into my back yard by walking down my driveway, which would help.

No delivery in CT yet... in fact still no recreational sales which were supposed to commence in May! (I have a med-card)

We're allowed to grow here too and Amazon has some deals on indoor setups for Prime-day right now... was just looking at a few YT reviews last night.

Sure wish I had a few of those 10's of thousands of seeds I threw away years ago! (fortunately MJ seeds are considered "hemp" and thus are legal in most places in the US so it's fairly easy to buy them)

Is there an advantage in having a med-card? There are dispensaries here (CA, Bay Area) and I guess you don't need a med-card to go in there and walk out with stash. But would a med-card give me some advantages? I figure I could get one with some of my issues! But would that just be for CBD and not the stuff that gets you high?

No sales-tax? So ye$... big-time. ;)

(tax on MJ tends to be very high lol)

And walking into a dispensary in CA and buying weed is about as exciting/difficult as buying booze in a liquor-store now.

It took me several years of going into dispensaries before I was able to make the adjustment to "legal" ... don't worry it'll come!

Usually cheaper due to reduced taxing as Captante said. Some states will offer different products available to med patients compared to what is available to recreational buyers, but I couldn't say which states. A med card is definitely for full-spectrum cannabis though, not just CBD products. CBD can be bought by anyone OTC.

Thanks! I just emailed my PCP asking for him to authorize me a med-card. I've never asked for one before. I detailed my several pain issues for him and said I have been informed that getting that card would save me having to pay the high taxes for cannabis. I figure he'll approve, but am not sure. He's denied me various things in the past, even promised things. I've been thinking of ditching him for a different doctor for years. He's smart, is really good at acting like your best friend. But he's let me down several times.

If he denies it don't let that stop you. ;)

There are PLENTY of folks whose entire job is getting you a medical card in Connecticut and weed had been legal a LOT longer in CA!

(although it might not be worth the $'s if you won't use it a lot)

You're suggesting the doctor who issues me the card may charge me more than I save using the card?

If he does deny me I'll probably come back at him. I don't think it's an unreasonable request or that it would be deemed unreasonable by his bosses if he grants it.

Edit: In fact I could lodge a complaint if he does deny me, for sure. Pain, after all, is not possible to measure. Anyway, I'm not making this stuff up, he knows that.

Cannabis replaced fentanyl patches and oxicontin for me, and is the only thing I've found besides opioids that can lessen my neuropathic pain. My PCP and neurologist know about my usage, and were both glad that I was able to find relief without the opiates (I'm not in a legalized state, but they gave an off-the-record nod when I informed them).

It isn't a cure, but it sure helps and obviously has less side effects than the opiates. I can function day-to-day much better now as well.

It definitely makes me less angry when i'm in pain, takes my mind off the pain and onto other things

So, my PCP (for my Kaiser Permanente HMO, in Northern California) messages me in response to my request to be issued a med-card for cannabis:

You would likely benefit from cannabis.
However, there are no longer 'marijuana cards' available or dispensed by a physician.
It is readily available, legalized, and over the counter.

It is no longer a prescription pain alternative.
It is fee for service and considered a holistic modality.
