I know you some of you aren't going to like this, but I am reporting it as written. The findings seems substantial enough to take notice.

Circumcision Seen As Bar To Disease, Lower HPV Risk Women

Male circumcision, usually performed for religious or cultural reasons, could serve a health purpose in reducing the spread of disease, U.S. researchers say.

In an article published in the British journal Lancet, researchers say removal of the foreskin could reduce the spread of human papillomavirus, or HPV, which in persistent infections in women can lead to cervical cancer, ABC News reported Friday.

Cervical cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide for women.

Studies have shown circumcised men are 32 to 35 percent less likely to contract HPV, and the new research indicates women whose partners are circumcised are 28 percent less likely to become infected with HPV.

Controlled trials have shown circumcision decreases the risk of HIV, HPV and herpes. In women it reduces the risk of bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis and now HPV.

Though these trials were done in African countries, they support observational studies performed in the United States, study author Dr. Aaron Tobian of Johns Hopkins University said.

"Many will argue that these findings are in Africa and they do not represent the U.S.; however, almost all of the supporting observational studies for this area were performed on U.S. populations," he says.

"We believe the cumulative scientific evidence supporting circumcision is now overwhelming." (c) UPI

So if your partner is disease-free, this changes things how?

OMG, it helps lower HPV.

Oh wait, there is a vaccine that prevents it anyways. A vaccine that is already available for women and will soon be available and approved for men.

Still got nothing here. I mean cutting the entire penis off will prevent almost all of the disease. Lets go for that method....

So all their actual testing was done in Africa, a disease infested hole, but supposedly backed by research done in the U.S.? If so, why bother with Africa at all?

If my dick is clean what does it matter if I have a little extra skin? Seriously, these risk only apply to dirty disgusting people who deserve their diseases anyway.

Also, I wrap my junk.

Lets see here.

circumcision will lower risk for HIV and herpes risk, yes. However, if you are participating in unprotected sex, circumcision isn't going to protect you. You are going to get infected. You might get away with it once or twice.

So lets see here, cut some skin off OR use a fucking condom. Lets see, condoms are pretty reliable. The other choice isn't. But if you want to cut off a body part off your child, that is your choice. I choose to educate my child in safe sex. Hope he is smart and uses a condom. All the while getting him vaccinated against whatever I can.

Ah, I see someone's been watching their Penn & Teller. Bag em and tag em. In other words, wear a condom and get your shots. The skin is there for a reason, to protect your little guy. Cutting it off is genital mutilation IMO. Especially since babies can't consent to it. Plus it makes your john thomas look smaller and reduces stimulation for your partner. Just teach your kids proper hygiene. That's all there is to it.

I've never seen Penn and Teller but it seems pretty obviously that lobbing of a part of my dick is a bad idea. I wish I could go back and time and meet the guy who managed to pitch this and actually have people believe it; he'd make a great salesman.

Let's. I've been telling people for years, STD's would be cured overnight if people just stopped.

Next up: a study from British scientists suggests vaccinations could cause autism.

Oh, wait.

This isn't anything new, it's been known for a while that circumcision may help reduce the spread of disease. This is more applicable in third world countries where personal hygiene is less prominent and people aren't informed enough to use condoms, though. In countries where people actually clean their junk and have protected sex, the benefits are far less substantial from what I've read.

So if it was shown that removal of the clitoral hood (about as intrusive as male circumcision unlike what's usually referred to as female circumcision) reduced the risk of disease would all women be good to go with that?

there was another study that said circumcision lowered risk for HIV by a significant amount as well.

it seems fairly clear that circumcision lowers the risk of disease transmission ACROSS THE BOARD. i don't know what your issue is regarding understanding this.

Fortunately the actual risk of getting HIV from having sex with someone who is infected, one time, is about 1 in 1000.
