I blame TV and church.

This is true.

They are told they can be rude as hell and when they come to church all is forgiven.

You must be attending one of those cultish religion type churches!

Actually it's called accountability. Something which you have no concept of Mr Deferred prosecution :).

Anyways. We live in a society of cop calling pussies that think it's okay to behave any way you please. When they get thier asses kicked they go blow a pig and the person who acted like a real man ends up in jail.

Peggy Newfield, founder and president of Personal Best, said the generation that came of age in the times-a-changin' 1960s and 1970s are now parents who don't stress the importance of manners, such as opening a door for a female.

I don't consider some of the 'old style' rules such as opening a door for a woman to be necessary for a civil society. But I agree with this article about people's driving habits.

Out here in California I have literally been shoved off the freeway. I'll be trying to get on the freeway on an on ramp that happens to be in an exit-only lane, and some @sshole in a truck will be coming right up beside me doing 80+ MPH. I dunno why but it is almost always some guy in a damn truck.

Sometimes I wish I had a rocket launcher I could whip out and just blow the guy's truck to smithereens. Or at least something to blow out his tires. :|

I her' ya! We live in a country where people's mindsets are "It's not what I can do for my country, but what my country can do for me"

Not totally. It's a Bush administration and FNC plot to made the Dems/Libs rude to each other so that they will eventually fight and extinguish each other so only Republicans are left. How many conservative Republicans do you see being rude to each other? ;)

Any of you who read my posts know why. We have a disease that our dystopian civilization is bringing more and more to the fore. The disease is self hate and its expression is competition. When you gotta get yours, you will.

ARGH! You have made me want to call out a poster so badly. Too bad he has stopped posting in P&N for the most part. I already commented on a similar thread in OT not too long ago. People were talking about the French and stuff. Americans and French are the snobbiest people on the planet Earth, so it's no surprise that they hate each other the most.

Anyway, freedom to do whatever you want is freedom to be whoever you want to be. Most people are jerkoffs inherently, so there you go. In my dictatorship people will be taught to shut up and do as I tell them. This fear will not only turn into a forced respect of me (the dictator), but will translate into a certain kind of forced humbleness as well. Or so I imagine/hope. I'm beyond wanting people to change willingly. Now I want to see them repressed and forced to behave correctly. I want to see them suffer.

Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly, Coulter and the clone army of the Right have been raving and foaming epithets for 20 years...

Pat Robertson calls for the murder of Caesar Chavez, GWB leans on the "With Us Or Against Us!" routine, House Republicans alter the official narrative to describe the other side as supporting child molesters to suit their purposes... Wingers in general support the rudest travesty of all, imprisonment w/o charge or trial...

Can't figure it out? Maybe that's because of the side of the issues you've taken up, of the quality of leadership you've chosen to follow...

The term "Repug" didn't spring up out of nowhere...

Edit- Hugo Chavez....

I blame the French - French Fries, French Bread, French Dressing, French Kissing,
anything and everything that even remotely can be associated with the French . . .
even Kevin Bacon . . if he's not French he's probably been over there.

The rudeness quotient is tied to the agony suffered by the liberati living under a Bush presidency. Just look to this forum for your proof. I'm amused by all this recent rude behavior..........and I'm doing what I can to perpetuate it.
