Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

I've already seen the pilot (Netflix) and I think it's going to be a good show. Aaron Sorkin has done it again.

It's on at 10:00 on NBC. WATCH IT. I don't want it to be prematurely cancelled because you all suck and don't watch it.

I'll be watching it. My week will consist of

Studio 60
My Name is Earl
The Office
E.R.

The rest of 'em can suck my nut. And where the hell is Scrubs gawd damnit!

It's like they dumped the west wing cast onto Studio 60. CJ's boyfriend is on there. Hell, even Matthew Perry was on West Wing.

Yeah there were some others I noticed when I watched the pilot. I think the bald guy that worked for Bruno was on there. And then there was Felicity Huffman who was on Sports Night, but she's not a regular character just a guest. Oh, I think that chick that left the West Wing after the first season is on the show too.

Oh, and Bradley Whitford of course.

On now on the east coast.

Isn't it on everywhere now? 😕

Well I've never lived west of the eastern time zone, but I thought the way it usually worked was a show at 10 ET would be on at 10 Pacific, while central would be the same time as eastern (9) and mountain would be the same as pacific (11). If that makes sense.

Otherwise "prime time" on the west coast would start when people are still at work.

I'm hoping that this becomes my show for the Monday 10PM slot, but I won't get home usually until 9:30-45, so I think I'll just be watching it later...

Post in the thread your reactions!

I found it boring after just a few minutes. Started off as a rip-off of the movie Network where you first heard: " 'I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!' I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell - 'I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Things have got to change. But first, you've gotta get mad!... You've got to say, 'I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Then we'll figure out what to do about the depression and the inflation and the oil crisis. But first get up out of your chairs, open the window, stick your head out, and yell, and say it: I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!" Somewhat different wording to apply to the current political and social goings on but nevertheless it felt strtangely already seen for me.

The bald guy sitting at the table with them at the award show... who is he? What has he been in?

Yeah, the show contained numerous other references to the movie Network. Not a rip-off, just a reference, a compliment even.

It's not just the cast. They're using all of the West Wing's camera work tricks too. Letter box screen, black title screens, the whole nine yards.

Yeah, the dialogue style is very similar too (not surprising). The camera work and dialogue style were what made Sports Night and West Wing great.

Is this supposed to be a good show? I don't care for it so far. 😕

Me either, it's meh at best and pretty boring. None of the characters have anything to make you like them

I for one, am loving this show.

Yeah, I loved it both times I saw it.

I dunno. It's like watching West Wing in Hollywood. I've already had 7 years (or however long it was) of West Wing and this style just seems kinda played out.

Maybe I'll warm up to it as the season progresses
