Searched for homework. No go. I find it funny that it says that students should be doing 10 minutes per grade per night. That means 2 hours a night in the senior year...I didn't even do that much in a MONTH! Such misinformed educators they are :)

On a side note, does anyone remember back in 3rd-4th grade and middle school when you had to carry english, science, social studies books that were like 1000 pages each? Now, in college, my books are 1/3 that size and the course covers 10x as much material. You have to wonder why some publishers have to write books that length....

Homework in high school? I did no such thing and I took a bunch of AP classes. I did more homework when I was in 5th grade than I did in high school. College is another beast though. TONS of work.

Due to me skipping 9th grade, I was in remedial 9th grade geography in 12th grade. I did all of my other homework in there. I think I had like a 165% average.

I did a LOT of homework in high school. It's freshman year in college. I'm doing less now. I imagine that will change quite a bit later.

Totally depends on what courses you're taking and sometimes the teacher. Some classes I never lifted a finger in high school, others I worked my ass off to get a decent grade

I think the 2 hours a night is for the LD class...

The only class that I remember studying for was Advanced Biology... and that was to memorize 90+ cat muscles...

I never really did homework until college...and even then I didn't do so much...
Reading assignments are worthless cause you can usually get cliffs notes. Most profs dont' test you over details, only major concepts and hand out review sheets so if you only go to class for the review sheets you're fine...then you just look over everything that's relevent.

For engineering classes just memorize example problems...it sounds bad but every idiot knows the basics and understands the concepts. All you really have to do is memorize a bunch of examples and clever math tricks and you'll have more examples of doing things in your head and little things don't bog you down during a test.

Some of my old high school buddies are still pissed off that I managed to pass our Russian Literature AP class without doing any real reading. :D
