Interesting video, the students all say they favor the idea of socialism and spreading the wealth around, as one put it there’s a lot of excess in America. But asked if they would be willing to share part of their gpa with students with less high of a gpa the breaks screech, the responses are all "no I worked hard for it, it’s mine". You can see them visually rethinking their world right there in front of the camera, good stuff.

If their entire graduating class had an average GPA 1 point lower than their parents, and they knew their children's GPA would be lower still - do you think they'd want to do something about it? To restore balance?

You hinge a topic on "socialism", but as I have said before that is a loaded term with multiple meanings. Democratic Socialists would give a !@#$ about your production. We just want a robust enough taxation to ensure a robust social safety net. To ensure Capitalism's consumers actually exist tomorrow. So that they can keep greasing the wheels of industry. We are the only Capitalists who want to save our system, to put in place a fail safe to stop it from cannibalizing itself.

You call yourself a Capitalist, but would you sit idly by and watch the world burn?
We, OTOH, are forming plans to take action. To help our people.

GPA and income are pretty much the same, so this makes sense.

You missed the point.
Let's say you make enough to live in a million dollar home. Cousin Bob only makes enough to live in a 100 thousand dollar home. Bob thinks you should pay him so he can also live in a million dollar home, to make things equal. You work harder than Bob, so your home should be equal to what you can afford, based on your higher earnings. The Bobs of this world don't see it that way. How much of what I earn is Bob entitled to?
Why?

Except we are not going full socialism.

We just want education and healthcare so those same students have the ability to get an education for a GPA and healthcare for a productive and healthy life.

Kind of like the little Red Hen.

The Little Red Hen

Once upon a time, there was a little red hen who scratched about the barnyard until she uncovered some grains of wheat. She called her neighbors and said, "If we plant this wheat, we shall have bread to eat. Who will help me plant it?"
"Not I," said the cow.
"Not I," said the duck.
"Not I," said the pig.
"Not I," said the goose.
"Then I will," said the little red hen, and she did.

The wheat grew tall and ripened into golden grain.

"Who will help me reap my wheat?" asked the little red hen.
"Not I," said the duck.
"Out of my classification," said the pig.
"I'd lose my seniority," said the cow.
"I'd lose my unemployment compensation," said the goose.
"Then I will," said the little red hen, and she did.

At last it came time to bake the bread.

"Who will help me bake the bread?" asked the little red hen.
"That would be overtime for me," said the cow.
"I'd lose my welfare benefits," said the duck.
"I'm a dropout and never learned how," said the pig.
"If I'm to be the only helper, that's discrimination," said the goose.
"Then I will," said the little red hen.

She baked five loaves and held them up for her neighbors to see. They all wanted some -- in fact, demanded a share. But the little red hen said, "Now, I can eat the five loaves myself."

"Excess profits!" yelled the cow.
"Capitalist leech!" cried the duck.
"I demand my equal rights!" shouted the goose.
The pig just grunted.

Then they hurriedly painted "unfair" picket signs and marched around, shouting obscenities. The government agent came and said to the little red hen, "You must not be greedy."

"But I earned the bread," said the little red hen. "Exactly," said the agent. "That is the wonderful free-enterprise system. Anyone in the barnyard can earn as much as he wants. But, under government regulations, the productive workers must divide their product with the idle."

And they lived happily ever after. But the little red hen's neighbors wondered why she never again baked bread.

How is that at all relevant to GPA and income not being the same thing?

But, under government regulations, the productive workers must divide their product with the idle.

1: You already do that. It's called taxation. Period.
2: Idle? Look up the term working poor. Few people are idle.
3: It's called The Gap. People work and get less than their parents. Your children will earn less than you do.
4: You will not escape automation. We will adapt, or we will die. It's time for an evolution to protect Capitalism.

Yeh, people in higher income brackets like to think they work harder. It's always been the other way around but, well, if you understood that you wouldn't be a Republican.

Sigh. Yeah, because that's how grades work in every single other first world country on the planet who has social programs in place that cover everyone.

Good gawd the right-wing is just blatantly fucking stupid anymore. The ONLY people this works on are your ignorant base. All you'll do with shit like this is recruit more retards.

This constant strawman you keep arguing against makes it impossible to have in actual, real debate about social programs.

This is how it always turns out:
