it's happened to me more than a few times  i'll rush to class then open the door to see a bunch of unfamiliar faces.... and then it will dawn on me that i'm an idiot and went to class an hour early.

on another note, i confirmed admission to texas a&m this morning.... just in case i don't get into cs here and i don't get accepted for transfer to any of the uc's. everybody i talk to puts down a&m :( but what can i do? i think the major is more important than the school... like i don't want to go to a better school but major in informatics (IT).

i used to show up to physics about 75 minutes late... the last 10 minutes of every class consisted of a test... which also took our attendance ;)

i'd show up, sit down in back.. and take my test... and then leave.. did pretty decent on those tests too

go to classes on time.

you'll have rest of your life time to be late to something.

but when you're paying 20-30k to attend school...
make sure you get the most of it.

you'll never again have the luxury to spend 20-30k on anything just to sit down somewhere and listen.

Totally agree.

Not only that, but when you get out to working world, you will have to push really hard to get any additional training. Enjoy it and don't take it for granted now.

Yeah, this past semester I decided to take a nap one day at 1:00 pm before my test at 2:00. Of course, that class really was at 1:00, and I was just being delusional. Fortunately it was a short test, and my friend called me when he finished at about 1:25. I have never run to class like I did that day! :)

I need to take my friend out to dinner some time for that one...

I have accidentally shown up an hour early before, it really sucks when you get to class and it is the WRONG ONE!!!! So I would go home and go back to bed and just sleep through the one I was supposed to go to. That doesn't happen anymore though, I grew up since my freshman year.

Deciding the corporate world sucked, I took a new job teaching continuing education at a university. I look late teens so I get mistaken as a student all the time. On the first day of a new class, I was sitting at a student terminal to make sure everything was up and running. One of my new students shows up early and we start talking. It finally dawned on me that he didn't know I was going to be his instructor because he said, "I hope whoever teaching this class is a not a complete ****head because these 30 weeks are gonna be like....... (Censor the rest)."

Talk about awkward moments.

I am in a distance ed program and I sometimes show up an hour late. The class is televised from the main campus and recorded at our site, so I just pick up the tape before I leave.
I have also been to class early. If that happens I just sit and surf the net.

Late..no
Early..NO!

However, during this summer semester I am taking english and math but my english is the first class in that room of the day (7:00am, gotta wake up at 5) so sometimes i actually GET to school a half hour early, no earlier though.

The people who come in an hour late or not at all, ESPECIALLY in the summer where the teacher explicitly explained that you have 2 abscences and you will be dropped on the third piss me off. Many people have been out of class 3+ times, turn in their work late, it is allowed to be corrected without any docking to the grade, and are still in the class. Me and a friend of mine think thats pretty jacked to be so nice to everybody that doesnt show interest and not doing what was promised in the beginning of the class that you would be dropped on the third time. She has been late maybe ONCE by 5 minutes, never absent. What crap.

When one is tired, it is easy to not comprehend time properly. I think that is what gopunk was after. I had a class at 10:30. I was up really late the night before working on stuff. I woke up and reset my alarm thinking I didn't have to be to class until 11:30. That was a wierd morning. Now that I'm in grad school, I hardly ever miss a class. I'm usually a couple of minutes late to my first class though.

Oh well.

I did the hour early thing twice in my undergrad., never an hour late, and once, went to a morning class on the wrong day (tues. vs. wed.)... really ticked me off because I didn't have morning classes on tuesday.
