Student xp pro and being a student ?

It's generally up to the retailer whether or not they verify your student status.

It's still a violation of the license agreement to use the OS if you're not a student. Why would you pay money for illegal software?
 
Simply buy an oem version of XP Pro for around 135 dollars for the full version with a one dollar mouse. Before anyone says this is illegal or wrong Bill Marr of Microsoft (Manager of Windows 64 development team) says that it is a good way to buy software (oem) with a cheap cable (hardware). So if a Microsoft manager says it o.k. I am buying oem!
