 It's all about the ad $$$ and they're all guilty of it.

Mildly amusing, but on such a, frankly, inconsequential fact it's not a huge deal. If it was something libelous or substantial I'd expect more due diligence to be paid.

The MSM has been losing subscribers and money for a while, and this has severely impacted the quality of the news. Most of the old-timers have taken early retirement or have been laid off. This situation makes it easier for crooks and the govt to push their misinformation in the media. Most networks and newspapers have closed their overseas bureaus so all we get is corporate filtered news.

Which newspapers fell for the hoax? I think that might be relevant in determining whether "the media is merely predisposed to our world view." If the only papers that repeated the line were local dailies, I don't think they're representative of the MSM.

only additional info available..this from the
irish Times.

Despite having been removed from Wikipedia, BBC Music Magazine and Daily Mail websites and corrected by the Guardian , the quote last night remained intact on dozens of blogs, websites and newspapers.

Wikipedia can be a tremendous tool but it's worrying what a curse it could end up being. By obsoleting legitimately fact-checked sources, it may one day become THE source. Maybe based on this it already is...scary prospect.

Television will introduce blip-verts first.

Left wingers just make up their facts last time I checked.

According to unnamed sources . . . .

When a news organization prints lies they should be forced off the air for 45 days.

According to unnamed sources the moon is indeed made of cheese and the fact has been covered up by the dairy industry for nearly 40 years.
