So the current plan for me is to finish summer school June 14 and start a study abroad program either early or late September for my final semester of college.

In between I'd like to do something interesting. So far the best I've found is wildland firefighters for my state (WA) and Alaska, so I went ahead and applied but I have a feeling the season is longer than I'm able to fit in and they'll throw out my application. I've been trying to look into the obvious Alaska fisherman idea but it seems it has been beaten to death because a lot of websites want you to pay to see these job listings, which I'm not going to do.

I'm not the correct gender and don't have the looks to be a gubernatorial prostitute. So any other ideas are welcome.

Depends. The firefighter thing paid just above $10/hour which I'm completely satisfied with, but probably isn't worth the actual physical labor. It still interested me because the nature of the work, though.

So a desk job would have to pay well, but something that provides more of an experience I can deal with shittier pay.

I made pretty good money -- better than most of my friends -- doing temp work every summer.

When I was in college some of my friends made decent money selling books door to door, but it's not really work I'd want to do.
