Student posting a flyer found guilty of "disrupting a campus event" because people were offended.

I'm actually starting to find reason for optimism with these PC nuts. The faster they keep raising the bar for what can be "offensive", the sooner the normal people in the world will decide enough is enough.

That's the first time I heard the expression "collision of experience".

And make sure you don't offend me with your reply, or I'll call the cops.

I would like to see an unbiased news report and a transcript of the proceedings before I make a judgement. Not saying that ChronWatch or FIRE are deliberately biased, but I would like to hear all sides before getting riled up.

Yeah, I might have read that if the article didn't start out with:
Check out this example of the left's policy of muzzling anything that is critical of their sacred cow, multiculturalism.

It's a lot like posting a thread titled "George Bush guilty of war crimes" then linking to an article that begins with "Praise be to Allah for he is just and has brought his wrath upon the infidel."

If it "offends" you as a taxpayer, you have the right to write these "administrators" and let them know of your feelings.
I know I am.

There's only two things I hate.

People who are intolerant of other people's culture, and the Dutch.

Google it, notfred, there's other references. But you don't seriously expect a liberal media source to carry that story, do you? Conservative media report on liberal abuses, and vice versa.

What else do you need, they posted quotes from the police report, the finding by the counsels, the school's legal counsel and the Vice - Provost. Both sides were quoted in this article. But, you're right the PC approach would be to "hear all sides".

Actually, I'm surprised that FAUX/CNN/MSNBC didn't jump all over this. Nothing they like more that stories that provoke outrage amongst conservative white persons.

That site has to be a prank. No one, especially an educator, can be that stupid and pig headed.

I agree wholeheartedly. Educators, especially the board, are kind caring members of society that care nothing more than the education of students

That kind of crap happened to me all the time while I was in college. I was the Chairman of our campus College Republicans for two years and had run ins all the time with the left wing nut jobs. The GLBA(Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual Association) was by far the worst. They would tear down our fliers, erase our sidewalk chalking, and show up at our meetings to chant and at times throw naked Barbies(never understood that) at the podium while myself or a guest speaker was speaking. I would go to the Student Activities Council and nothing would ever be done. Finally I decided to check out one of their meetings. Myself and 4 of my officers went to one of their meetings, sat in the back, and never said a word. Two days later we received a notice of investigation from the Student Activities Council claiming we had disrupted a GLBA meeting and a hearing would be held on such and such date. We went and were confronted with all sorts of lies about what had really taken place. The claimed we threw fruit and were screaming things like "die queer die" while they were meeting. None of that is true, we sat there in silence. At the end of the hearing it was decided that our charter was going to be revoked. They asked if I had any final comments and that's when we brought out the video tape from the hidden camera we took to the meeting. In the end we kept our charter but the GLBA was never punished for their lies or previous actions. They learned to leave us alone, but it just shows how anytime the left does something outrageous it is overlooked. Let someone say a Republican did something and there must be a hearing. It's pathetic.

I just wrote a lengthy email to Cal Poly and I'll probably call them when I get home. I know it probably won't make any difference at all, but I feel better letting them know just how retarded they are.

I find it sad that this does not surprise me.

As a member of the vast liberal media bias 😛 I can tell you this is utter horsecrap if it's true. Unfortunately I can expect it from a place like Cal Poly; it's the kind of place that breeds the sort of people that give "liberal" a bad name. (Though to be fair I am more of an independant than a liberal)

Oh FFS, like this isn't a two-way street. You guys make it sound like the GLBA groups are lynching the Campus Republicans in the streets across the nation. Each side is just as quick to crawl up the ass of the other at any perceived slight.

No, they posted "quotes". Watch any news documentary and you will see "quotes", often edited in mid-sentence or extrapolated from a larger paragraph or explanatory note that provided context.

I don't know what the PC approach would be, I am attempting to find out as much relevent information as I can.

The exception being that the University can't act against the gay and lesbian group for fear of being called a homophobe and it being plastered over all the papers. Yet, they can do it all day to non-gay or non-minority groups and it not even make the back page of CNN

Or, watch the "Best Documentary" of the year, and see "quotes" that consist of unconnected words from different speeches.

😉

Act against them for what? The group 'burke was talking about was certainly out of line, but it's not like that's how most GLBA groups operate. Most of them serve as a support group of sorts and just want to be left the hell alone. For every one incident where a militant GLBA group harasses a conservative group, there are 100 of the opposite so of course that's going to make the news. When's the last time you heard about a drunken gay mob beating the sh*t out of a straight guy?
